WHAT TYPE OF MATERIALS DO YOU USE TO BUILD CARPORTS?
All of our designs are manufactured out of steel. Roofing, post, trim and galvanized beams all made out of steel.
CAN I BUILD THIS CARPORT MYSELF? DIY CARPORT?
Yes, but it will take about three people. You could hire a contractor if you don’t feel you are able to climb a ladder. Step-by-step instructions are included.
CAN I BUILD THIS CARPORT BETWEEN MY HOUSE AND MY PROPERTY LINE?
We recommend that you call your local planning and zoning department and ask them what the rules are in your area. Our experience is that you need to have a few feet left over, after the carport is built. However, all cities are a little different.
DO I NEED A SITE PLAN TO BUILD MY CARPORT?
Yes, we have provided a site plan example for you to follow. After you have drawn up your site plan and decided where you want your carport or garage to be built you must then take it to your local planning and zoning department and ask them to approve your site plan. Once they have accepted, you are ready to order.
DO I NEED A BUILDING PERMIT TO BUILD A CARPORT?
Depending on the size of the carport, you’ll need to ask this question to your local planning and zoning.
CAN WE BUILD THIS CARPORT IN THE MOUNTAINS TO COVER OUR R.V.?
Yes, after choosing the right design we can build anywhere.
This is another question you will need to ask your planning and zoning department in the area you are going to build:
– What are the wind and snow loads for this area?
WHAT DOES LIVE LOAD AND WIND LOAD REFER TO?
This is how much snow a carport will hold per square foot and how hard the wind blows. Custom Carport will need this information in order to quote you the right price and suggest the right carport for your needs.
